Snowflakes and Coffee Cakes review
Vera Sterling has returned to her New England home town of Addison Cove after losing her job as a journalist. Just when the pieces of her world begin to crumble, she makes a spontaneous decision to purchase an old colonial home. Now with a direction set in motion to restore the place, she meets Derek Cooper. Having his own issues to battle they slowly become each others light house beacon. Hoping to reach out to him, Vera perseveres and becomes just what he needs to open and warm his heart.
Vera and Derek have a realistic type of relationship that requires growth to flourish. Derek is guarded but slowly begins to open up to Vera and we see them develop which really resonates with the reader. Vera is a down to earth character who is honest and kind with a small dash of feisty. The author has a magisterial manner to her writing that is lavish and enchanting. Like a cup of hot chocolate, this story warms and sweetens your heart.
